A remarkable Lapaz woman is celebrating more than a century's worth of memories.
Cindy Wingett celebrated her 105th birthday Sunday with family and friends from all across Michiana.
Until last year, Wingett volunteered by serving meals to the less fortunate. Her family says she has had the same routine for many, many years.
“She likes to pull open the blinds to let the day in. She goes back to her room and makes her bed, has her breakfast,” said Marsha McPherson, Wingett’s great niece. “There's never a day that goes by that her hair isn’t fixed perfectly by herself, her makeup, her earrings, her necklaces.”
McPherson says she is simply grateful for all the years she has been able to share with her great aunt.
