On Saturday, at approximately 9:22 p.m., Marshall County received a complaint from a residence in the 100-block of Wood St. in Lapaz in reference to credit card fraud and theft.
Patrolman Bryant responded to the residence. Once there he learned that the suspect, Aaron Eckman III, had stolen his grandparents' credit card and had made several fraudulent purchases.
Eckman was also currently wanted for an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
Officers Bryant, Bragg and Sgt. Phil Beam went to a known location of Eckman on Thumper Trail in Lapaz.
While approaching the residence they located Eckman on the back of a moped being operated by Randall Warren Jr. Eckman was taken into custody without incident and Officers recovered evidence from the theft.
Officers also found the moped in question to be stolen out of Bremen and placed Warren under arrest.
Officers then went to the residence and located Justin Haining inside and placed him under arrest for his involvement in the credit card fraud. While two officers were transporting Eckman and Warren to the jail, Haining was able to escape on foot and handcuffed from the remaining officer's squad car.
On Monday, Officers Bryant, Hafke and Sgt. Beam located Haining as he attempted to flee from his residence on Thumper Trail.
