A Lakeville teen is sentenced in a child molestation case from nearly a year ago.
Kody Oliver, 17, entered a guilty plea back in August.
Wednesday a judge sentenced him to six years of probation and six years of suspended jail time.
According to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office, the sentence was "over" the state's objection and request for jail time.
Oliver, who was 16 at the time, and the 13-year-old victim, were students at LaVille High School. The teen pleaded guilty to raping her along South Main Street in Lakeville.
He now must register as a sex offender.
