Lake Michigan College opens first on-campus residence hall

Benton Township, Mich. After three years of planning and about a year of construction, Beckwith Hall on Lake Michigan College’s campus is officially open.

Beckwith Hall is a residence hall that will house about 188 students.
There are two and four bedroom apartments that are fully furnished and have private, secure access to each room. Each apartment has a full kitchen, in-unit washers and dryers, a 42” flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and a fitness center.

LMC is the 7th community college in Michigan to offer on-campus housing and it will be fully functional come fall.

“Beckwith Hall represents a new way of looking at and thinking about Lake Michigan College,” stated LMC President Dr. Robert Harrison. “With this addition to our comprehensive collection of academic programs, services, cultural offerings, and intercollegiate athletics, we are expanding out role as the center for learning and higher education in the region.”

Housing is contracted through individual leases and some assistance through financial aid and scholarships may be available for students. If you want more information about housing, contact the Lake Michigan College office at (269)-927-8702
