BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The weather is warming up, which means it's a perfect time to start thinking about spring cleaning.
Lake Michigan College and the Berrien County Parks Department Wednesday held their fifth annual Reduce, Reuse, Recycle event in Benton Harbor.
Over 75 volunteers took everything from household hazards, such as pills and chemicals, to electronics and books.
The items will then either be donated to resale shops or properly recycled.
“It's kind of a one-stop shop way to get rid of things that shouldn't go into the trash, probably can't go into a recycling bin but can be recycled of used in some way," Jill Adams, Berrien County Environmental Property Manager, said.
There's still time to recycle your items.
The event runs until 7 p.m. at Lake Michigan College.
There's also a shredding truck on-hand to help safely get rid of important documents.
