From the LaPorte County Sheriff:
On Wednesday, investigators from the La Porte County Metro Operations Unit and deputies from the Warrants Division of the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home located in the 1200 block of Jackson Street in La Porte.
As a result of the subsequent search, two persons were arrested and controlled substances were seized.
Devonte Stevens, 19, of Chicago, Illinois, was arrested without incident and charged with Dealing Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug, a Level 2 felony. He is being held in the La Porte County Jail with a bond set in the amount of $50,000.
Anthony Santolino, 44, who lived in the home on Jackson Street, was charged with Common Nuisance, a Level 6 felony. He is being held in the La Porte County Jail in lieu of $750 bond.
Both Stevens and Santolino are scheduled to appear in La Porte County Circuit Court on August 15, 2014.
These recent arrests are the result of on-going investigations involving the distribution of narcotics and illegal drugs in and around the La Porte area. Additional arrests are anticipated.
La Porte County Sheriff Michael Mollenhauer states: “La Porte County law enforcement continues to arrest those who are distributing drugs in our communities. These arrests should be an indication that we will seek out those who are dealing narcotics and those who allow it to happen in their homes. This type of activity will not be tolerated and we will aggressively seek those who are dealing drugs.”
