GOSHEN A long-neglected building with walls covered in spray paint will soon become home to artists and entrepreneurs. LaCasa will take over the Hawks building in Goshen by March.
The Goshen Redevelopment Commission began the process of donating the building last June, in exchange for community help from LaCasa.
The Elkhart Truth reports that LaCasa plans to build 35 units in the building, where artists and entrepreneurs can live and work. Construction will take about a year, and LaCasa expects the first tenants to move in during the spring of next year.
The building is located along the mill race canal.
