Knox woman admits to killing boyfriend, sentenced to 55 years in prison

Knox, Ind. A Knox woman, who admitted to killing her boyfriend while he was asleep in his bed, will spend more than half-a-century behind bars, according to our reporting partners at WKVI radio.

A judge handed down the maximum penalty to Kathleen Holt, 51, after she plead guilty Wednesday afternoon to fatally shooting Ron Worker, 46, in the chest.

It happened back in February at the home they shared on CR 550 East, near CR 200 South.

After hearing testimony from three witnesses, the judge sentenced Holt to 55 years in prison.

He cited several factors in his decision, including the fact that Holt made two phone calls prior to dialing 911 to report the incident.

Additionally, the judge said Holt showed no remorse because she said she shot him to "see how it felt."

Holt will get credit for 204 days served.
