UPDATE: Boy allegedly steals vehicle, leads police on chase

St. Joseph County, Ind. A 13-year-old boy was taken to the hospital for allegedly driving a stolen truck and leading police on a pursuit Monday morning.

Marshall County dispatch received a call around 2:40 a.m. about a stolen white Ford F-350 pick-up truck.

While taking the initial report, a Marshall County dispatcher was notified the truck was seen in Walkerton. A report indicates the truck was taken from a mobile home park on U.S. 31.

An officer from the Walkerton Police Department attempted to stop the truck. The teen was driving erratically and began leading police on a pursuit.

Eventually the boy hit a vehicle pulled over for flashing lights on State Road 23 in St. Joseph County.

The impact caused the stolen truck to flip once and land in a bean field.

The underage driver as taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
