Justin Tuck of the Giants really made a name for himself when the G-Men upset the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
Now, he enters his 2nd super bowl as a mega star.
It was his performance back in the big game in 2008 against the Patriots that made him a household name. Tuck was a freak, two sacks and forced fumble, as the Giants won their first Super Bowl in 17 years.
Tuck says, "It was kind of unreal. You wake yourself up the next morning, you had to pinch yourself to kind of believe it actually happened, and you weren't dreaming. It's the biggest stage in our sport and having the game I had that night, hopefully I can duplicate it."
That duplication would come here in Indiana where Tuck starred for Notre Dame from 2002 to 2004.
"Being back close to the old stomping, I’ve gotten a huge number of requests that I haven't been able to answer."
Tuck left Notre Dame as one of the most dominant defensive players of his generation. He took with him something much larger in life.
"People don't understand that we are human beings, and we have other passions in life other than just going out and knocking guys’ heads off. One of mine is definitely my faith. I'm so glad we picked up the slogan ‘All In.’ A lot of that is not just all in on the football field, but all in in life. And that starts with our belief in the Lord Jesus Christ."
And for this true Notre Dame guy, he does not mind having Touchdown Jesus nearby.
"It's good to be back close to home, I guess. I know I have a lot of support in Indiana. Hopefully, I can wake up some echoes this week."
