Members of the South Bend Junior League held their annual Thrift Shop Sale downtown on Saturday, causing people to line up bright and early in order to snag the best deals.
The Junior League donated gently used items, while local merchants supplied brand new goods. Money raised will go toward funding a variety of the organization's projects and missions.
President of the Junior League, Laura Schaefer Hyde shared where the money wil go, “This year, we are partnering with United Health Services… and we are focusing on parental involvement and early childhood education in daycare centers in town.” Volunteers for the South Bend Junior League will help to facilitate these programs, Hyde said.
Yesterday’s event was held in conjunction with the Our Town Truck Pull and Community Faire.
