The lawyer for a murder suspect in St. Joseph County requested a trial delay, but his request was denied.

ST. JOSEPH Co., Mich.--- The lawyer for a murder suspect in St. Joseph County requested a trial delay, but his request was denied.

Steven Clippenger will go to trial September 29.

Clippenger is accused of shooting Matthew and Lisa Clippinger in their Mishawaka home while their kids were inside, in June of 2012.

He is charged with two counts of murder and one count of being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm.

Clippinger has already served 20 years in prison for the 1990 murder of 66-year-old Robert Gibson.
