Judge rejects plea deal from former North Judson treasurer

A judge has rejected a plea deal for a former North Judson clerk-treasurer accused of stealing $74,000 from the city.

Our reporting partners at WKVI say Connie Miller's lawyers tried to negotiate a sentence of three years per count.

Each of those sentences could have been suspended to be served on probation. But the judge says he will not accept anything less than six years per count.

Another hearing is scheduled for June 7.
