Judge orders 3rd competency evaluation for Shoun

ELKHART, Ind.--- A man charged in the stabbing death of a 17-year-old girl will be evaluated for a third time to determine if he is competent to stand trial.

Michael Shoun is accused of killing Tiana Alter in November 2013.

Our reporting partners atThe Elkhart Truth say he has already been evaluated twice.

One of those exams said he was fit for trial, the other said he was not.

So an Elkhart County Judge has ordered a third evaluation.

Shoun's trial has been pushed back to October 6.
