A good crowd is expected Friday night at Toscana Park as the annual Italian Fest kicks off for a two-day run in Granger.

Organized by Jerry Macri, the event is centered around Villa Macri Italian piazza and ristorante.

Hundreds of people are expected to stop by for a sampling of authentic Italian foods, including pastas, Italian sausage, gelato, and tiramisu.

Of course, there will be plenty of beverages as well, with a full bar inside and out.

On Friday night, visitors can come out between 5:00 and 11:00 p.m. to hear Vyagra Falls and Blammo play some music.

On Saturday, day two of the Italian Fest runs from 3:00 until 11:00 p.m., with Emcee Dusty & DJ Grind, Flourish Fashion Show, and The Brat Pack. They'll also feature family-friendly activities for children on the piazza.

"Paint your own Roman pottery and create fabulous artwork with pasta. There will be face painting, balloon animals and much more! Take your turn on the mic to the music of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra with our Italian Karaoke Competition. Saturday evening will feature Italian dance performances and a fashion show," according to VisitSouthBend.com.
