The fifth annual Italian Fest kicked off Friday night at Toscana Park.

Local bands performed for attendees as they took in the Italian culture and food. From delicious dishes to live entertainment, organizers say this is the perfect summer event for the whole family.

“It's just fun,” said Jerry Macri, owner of Villa Macri. “You hear the music in the background. It's free. Free parking, free entrance, and then you pay for the food and drinks, but it's still a great time, great atmosphere, great surroundings, and a time to just relax and have fun.”

The festival continues Saturday from noon to midnight. There will be activities for the kids to enjoy too with attractions like a bounce house and obstacle course.
