Irish players excited for new uniforms vs Miami

This is the game where the Irish will wear those new uniforms.

It's a one game thing each season when Notre Dame plays its off-site home game. The Irish will entertain Miami at Soldier Field in Chicago on Saturday.

Notre Dame will sport dark blue jerseys with the numbers in gold in the middle. The helmet is a radical change, half sparkling gold and half dark blue with a giant Irish leprechaun on the blue side.

While many traditionals fans aren't a fan, the players certainly are.

"It's pretty cool," says captain Tyler Eifert who first showed off the uniforms during Media Day in August. "We never worn anything even close to that and we are excited to wear them."

"I love them," adds senior wideout Robby Toma. "Me and coach were talking about it earlier that October is the month that kids get to dress up so this is our time to dress up. We're going to enjoy it."
