Irish players having some fun too in Florida

The Irish players had another busy day as they practiced again in the warmth of South Florida. The Irish have one more day of full practice before the game on Monday in Miami against Alabama.

The Irish have been working out at the Miami Dolphins training facility, and you know what they say about all work and no play. So the Irish players did get a little playing in on Friday afternoon with a beach party and some very tasty food. The Irish are getting closer but also stressing the comradely that comes from being together since the beginning of the season.

“It is great to come down to Miami and we know that we are here to win a football game, but anytime that we get to relax on the beach is always nice,” says Captain and Offensive Lineman Zach Martin. “So we are going to take advantage of that.”

“You have to have fun at the same time,” says Running Back Theo Riddick. “You cannot always be uptight the whole time here and we realize that. We are the type of team that we know when to have fun and we know when to take things more seriously.”

Because the game is in South Florida and the sun is shining and plentiful many of the Irish players say they are not going to let it go to waste. They want to work on their tans.

“I am ready for that for sure,” says Tight End Tyler Eifert. “I am not afraid to have to put a little oil on.”

“Personally I don’t have a problem with a tan, but it will be nice to get some sun,” says Irish Receiver TJ Jones.

There is still some work to be done on Saturday as the Irish get their first look at Sun Life Stadium for the Media Day session.
