A rain soaked evening couldn't stop hundreds of Notre Dame fans from pouring onto the South Quad Friday night for the first pep rally of the season.
All four Notre Dame captains-Zack Martin, Manti Te'o, Tyler Eifert and Kapron Lewis-Moore spoke before the crowd on the eve of the Irish showdown with Purdue.
Martin told fans that the team is ready to shake down the thunder in the house that Rockne built.
"As you know this group here, we've been through some tough times but I can tell you one thing, the difference between this team is we come to work every day with an attitude," Martin told the crowd. "And we're gonna show you that attitude. Go irish."
"I come from a Purdue family," explained Fort Wayne native and start tight end Tyler Eifert. "My dad played basketball there, my mom went there, my uncles went there, my aunts went there and I had an opportunity to go there. but you know what I said? HELL NO!! ND NATION BABY!"
The Irish captains will all be sporting a hockey-style "C" on their jerseys for Saturday's game.
