The Fighting Irish will be spending the holidays away from home this year as they prepare for their bowl game against Rutgers in New York City. But that isn't stopping the them from having a great time with their teammates.
On Christmas Eve the team practice at the Giants facilities before taking a bus tour of New York City. After the tour the team had dinner in LIttle Italy and capped off the night with a screening of "Anchorman 2."
Christmas day started off with Mass followed by a big brunch for the entire travel party. Then the Irish got back to work with meetings and an hour and a half long practice at the Jets facility.
It has been a mix of work and play for Brian Kelly's squad but they wouldn't have it any other way.
"Christmas in New York is a bucket list deal," Irish running back Cam McDaniel said. "We are right there in the middle of the Times Square area and just the light and atmosphere, it is going to be cool."
Irish linebacker Carlo Calabrese added "This time of year in New York is beautiful they have got the tree, the skating, the lights up, it is going to be a great time."
Notre Dame would cap Christmas day with a team dinner at the hotel then walk to Radio City Music Hall for the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular."
