Irish depart to face Kansas in the Sweet 16

The Irish women’s basketball team departed to Norfolk for the Sweet 16 on Friday afternoon.

Notre Dame is looking to reach the Final Four for the third straight year with two wins in three days.

The top-seeded Irish will face 12th seeded Kansas Sunday afternoon and Irish senior Skylar Diggins says there’s no looking ahead.

“We can’t go to the National Championship if we don’t win the games we’re supposed to win” said Diggins.

She added, “Right now as long as we’re wearing white we’re supposed to win the games so, we know Kansas is a good team so if we look past them we’re going to be like the other teams they upset who probably looked past them also.”

According to Coach Muffet McGraw, the team has been back to business as usual since returning to campus.

“We got off the last two rounds, got back business as usual, back to the film, working hard at what we got to do. I think the team is focused, they’re ready and understand what’s at stake,” said Muffet.

Notre dame and Kansas will tip-off at noon on Easter Sunday and can be seen on ESPN.
