Irish coach Brian Kelly talks about Bombings in his hometown of Boston

Irish coach Brian Kelly shook his head Wednesday when he was asked about the bombings that hit Boston this week.

A native of Everett, Massachusetts--which is just outside Boston--Kelly says he was devastated about the news like everyone else.

"Terrible, terrible day," Kelly explained. "Being from Boston and Patriots Day being our holiday if you will as a Bostonian, it shakes you when that private holiday that is so much Boston is shattered."

Kelly says he spent a few hours making phone calls to check on family and friends and luckily everyone he is close with is OK but he knows the pain of the entire city will stick around.

"It's going to be hard," Kelly said. "A lot of people are going to take some time to get over this."
