An investigation is underway after a rescued horse was found dead over the weekend, and the owner believes the animal was stabbed.
The incident happened in the 3000 block of East County Road 450 South, somewhere between the hours of 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Christina Meade says her horse, Sassy, was staying in one of the stalls in the barn because she wasn’t feeling well.
She says she checked on Sassy at 6 p.m. before going to the store.
When she came back about two hours later, she found her horse dripping in blood from multiple stab wounds.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is looking into the case.
There is no word on whether or not any arrests have been made.
