The investigation continues into a Saturday morning car crash that sent one passenger flying from the vehicle.
At around 5 a.m. on Saturday, police say Tyler Layton, 19, of Granger was driving westbound on Day Rd. near Bittersweet Rd. when he drove into some landscaping. His car rolled over before it came to a complete stop.
Layton’s passenger, David Hayden, 18, suffered serious injuries to his head and torso after he was ejected from the front seat of the car.
Both teens were taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment, now investigators are trying to determine what caused Layton to hit the landscaping in the first place. They believe alcohol and speeding were factors.
