INDIANAPOLIS An Indianapolis Metropolitan officer was shot in the line of duty early Tuesday morning, but fortunately, he's doing ok.
According to NBC affiliate WTHR, it happened on the city's east side around 12:15a.m. They were dispatched to a report of two men shooting at each other at an apartment complex.
One of the officers, Gregory Stevens, told an armed suspect to stop, but he refused and began a gun battle with Stevens. He was shot in the leg but it is in good condition and has been released from the hospital.
The 22-year-old suspect, who was shot, is in fair condition. It remains unclear if he was injured in the shootout with the officers or previously.
