Saint Joseph County is purging its voter list by getting rid of names of folks who are no longer eligible to vote in the area.
Approximately 186,000 paper ballots were wasted in the primary earlier this month, so officials are looking to cut out old names.
They will be starting the process by mailing a postcard next week to all the names currently on file.
That postcard will remind voters of the November 4 election.
It asks you to make corrections if there is any wrong information on the card.
A second postcard will be mailed later, only to select residents.
Everyone who gets the second postcard must respond, or they will be removed from the list of registered voters.
