IUSB held special election talk session Wednesday

With less than a month to go until we vote, the election is one of the big topics on college campuses across Michiana.

IU South Bend scholars gathered to discuss the upcoming presidential election Wednesday.

Political Science Professors James Smith and Elizabeth Bennion led an informal conversation where students were asked to share thoughts and insights on recent media headlines.

“We will talk a little bit about the economy, more external environments,” explains Elizabeth Bennion a Professor of Political Science. “We will talk about the rules of the election, such as the electoral college, and why we are not seeing the activity we did here in Indiana in 2008.”

The event was sponsored by the University's American Democracy Project and Political Science Club. They also have planned debates between local candidates and an election forecasting session.
