IU South Bend has hired a new Chancellor

The search is over for a new Chancellor at IU South Bend.

Terry Allison, the current Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Governors State University in Illinois, has been chosen for the job. Allison has been at GSU, where he's also an English professor, since 2010.

Before that, he was the Dean of the College of Arts and Letters at California State University in Los Angeles.

Allison will succeed current IU South Bend Chancellor Una Mae Reck, who will retire in June after serving in that position since 2002.

Reck will take a year's leave and then return to campus as an Education professor. In addition to teaching classes, she'll hold the title of Chancellor Emeritus and work on special projects for the university.
