Rochester Rochester's police chief has resigned, amid a criminal investigation.

The investigation centers around what's being called “official misconduct and theft”, alleging that Jason Coleman billed the town for work he never did during the past two years.

The Stacey Page Online reports that the inconsistencies were discovered by the clerk-treasurer in the town of Fulton, where, Colman also served as town marshal since 2008.

Coleman remains with the Rochester Police Department as a patrol officer.
