ST. JOSEPH CO.--- Hundreds of bikers came out today for the “34th Annual Parade of Bikes” in St. Joseph County on Sunday.

It was the 2014 “I Sent a Kid to Camp” event, were area bikers came together to raise money to be able to send kids to the MDA summer camp.

At the summer camp, the kids are able to do activities that they see their friends do, but usually don't have an opportunity to be part of.

And the bikers don't fit the typical stereotype like you may think.

“I’ll tell you these guys look like tough guy bikers, but when you get around them they are like teddy bears,” said Kathy Selking, from the Muscular Dystrophy Association. “They are wonderful. They come out to our camp every single year and spend the day with them. They bring water guns, snacks and toys and things, and just get out there, and are on the ground playing with these kids having a great time. I just appreciate everything they do because they provide so much for our families here.”

All together the group helps over 650 families send kids to the camp, and they also help with medical bills for speech and occupational therapy.
