VALPARAISO, Ind. - Construction workers, installing part of the new Enbridge oil pipeline near Valparaiso, made a disturbing discovery.
Investigators were called to the scene today after crews found a human skull.
Detectives and workers used excavating equipment to sift dirt in the area, looking for other remains, but did not find any.
The area is now being treated as a crime scene.
A forensic anthropologist will be brought in to examine the skull, which is missing a jawbone.
In the meantime, officials say residents have no reason to fear for their safety.
