Traffic was at a complete standstill along a portion of the U.S. 20 Bypass Sunday evening.
Around 9:02 p.m., a power line fell across the busy four lane highway. Emergency workers quickly blocked-off traffic in both directions as AEP crews looked to remedy the problem.
By 10:30 p.m., traffic was reopened between Michigan St. and Ironwood Rd. in South Bend.
