How did we get to Michiana? New exhibit helps explain

South Bend Did you grow up in Michiana? Did your parents? If so, have you ever asked yourself, how did we get to Michiana? Well, the Center for History has a new exhibit that may help explain that.

The exhibit is called “How We Got Here”. It is part of “The Great Migration: 1915 – 1970” project. The exhibit displays images and stories of Michiana residents who migrated to the area from other cities, states and countries.

In doing research folks at the Center for History found that people came to the area for work, family and other reasons.

They also found that people didn’t come to the area from one place. They came from several different countries. That diversity is displayed in several of the pictures and stories throughout the exhibit.

This exhibit is open until April 27th. For more information you can visit the Center for History website.
