Housing Authority closes its doors

MARSHALL COUNTY The Marshall County Housing Authority will be forced to close its doors this week.

The office, located in Plymouth, provides section 8 assistance to help families to pay rent on privately owned homes.

WKVI reports that they were left with a $17,000 deficit after funding cuts.Funding was being reduced each year, but this year, the facility was hit especially hard by the sequester.

There was an effort earlier this year to join forces with the Kosciusko/Goshen Housing Authority and the Rochester Housing Authority, but the plans fell through.

The office will close on Friday.
