Families in the Michiana area will receive a Thanksgiving feast right to their doorstep Thursday morning, and preparation is taking place right now.
Volunteers and staff at Hope Ministries began preparing at 6 p.m. Wednesday and some will be coming in at 4 a.m. Thursday to carve the turkeys.
Donations came from all over the community and will be delivered to residents through Real Services and the Housing Authority of South Bend.
“We can’t do this on our own,” says Food Service Manager Calvin Chapman. “We have to have the help of the community and every year that I've been here we always get a good response from the people of South Bend.”
Hope Ministries is still in need of dinner rolls and baked pumpkin pies. You can drop items off at 532 South Michigan.
