Police are searching for the suspect responsible for holding up a South Bend 7/11 at gunpoint on Saturday afternoon.
Just before 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 12, police say a hooded man walked into a 7/11 in the 1800-block of South Miami St. prepared to rob the convenience store.
The suspect took about $100 in cash after he approached the cashier with a silver and black handgun and told him “I’ll be needing all the money.”
While there were a handful of customers inside the store, no one was injured as the robbery took place. Police attempted to identify the suspect by bringing several possible men before witnesses; however none of the witnesses were able to make a positive identification from the lineup.
The armed robber is described as a black male with somewhat of a thin to medium build, between five foot seven and five foot eight. Witnesses also say he was wearing a gray hoodie and sweatpants, as well as latex gloves.
Officials ask that if anyone has information pertaining to this robbery or suspect, that they contact Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP.
