Officials in Kosciusko County are investigating an apparent homicide in a well-known mobile home park.

Just before 1 p.m. Sunday, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputies were called to lot 34 at the Hide-Away-Hills mobile home park located in the 2400 block of W. 250 South, to conduct a welfare check.

When officers arrived they discovered a dead man inside the mobile home. His name and age have not been released.

Kosciusko County crime scene technicians and coroner Michael Wilson spent most of the day at the scene, wrapping yellow tape around the blue double-wide mobile home.

Investigators have taken an individual to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department for an interview. It's unclear if that person has been arrested.

WNDU did speak with one of the victims neighbors. She said that last night she heard loud banging, almost as it someone was banging on their home but they weren’t.

She also said that when she woke up, one of her friends actually saw the victim walking down the street with another man they had never seen before.

She said the victim’s “friend” was the one that called the police saying he found the man dead inside the home after he woke up that afternoon.

She also said that that man claimed to be the victim’s roommate however; she says she never knew the victim to have a roommate in the past four years that she has lived there.

Now, this is not the first time police have been called to the Hide-Away-Hills mobile home park.

Back in December 2010, a man was arrested and charged for drug possession.

Police said that they went into Michael Harris's home acting on a tip.

After entering the home they did smell chemicals and found two working meth labs.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center in Fort Wayne.
