Home invasion suspect sentenced to 65 years in prison

Walter Neely, 47, charged for breaking into a South Bend home and stabbing five people in December, was sentenced to 65 years in prison on Friday.

Khawana Lamar, 21, Lee Griffin, 19, Nate Coley, 18, and Gemari Cotton, 17, were also arrested and charged for their involvement in the crime.

One of the victims of the invasion, Sandra Price, 67, died as a result of her injuries. Price had severe blood loss from stab wounds to her neck.

On Friday, the Court sentenced Neely to 65 years in prison for a felony Murder charge.on Count VIII, Murder, a felony, to 65 years incarceration. On Count II, Robbery, Class A felony, the Court sentences the Defendant to 50 years incarceration. Sentences are consecutive.
