ANN ARBOR, Mich. Michigan football coach Brady Hoke says it means "a whole lot to the university as a whole" that Stephen Ross donated $200 million to the business school and athletics programs.
Hoke says he spoke with Ross on Wednesday and the Miami Dolphins owner only wanted to talk about former Wolverine safety Jordan Kovacs. The undrafted free agent earned a spot on Miami's practice squad.
Ross, a New York real estate magnate, made the largest single donation to the University of Michigan and his gift is among the most generous in higher education history. The school says it raises his total giving to his alma mater to more than $313 million.
Michigan's athletic campus is expected to be named the Stephen M. Ross Athletic Campus.
