MARSHALL COUNTY Winter ice means lots of salt on the roads, and one county has run out.

The Marshall County Highway Department ordered a thousand tons of salt last year, according to WKVI. They didn’t use all of it, so this year they only ordered 950 tons. Now, midway through January, it is already gone.

The department is now mixing other compounds with sand to melt snow and keep the roads passable.
