SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- A South Bend Common Council member's controversial Twitter post has led to the filing of an official complaint.

This tweet, which Henry Davis Jr. re-tweeted, stated: "tonybask: doctorjoe56 Maybe if they could have discovered unborn babies with shortage of brain cells you republicans could have been aborted"

It comes days after the Common Council decided not to take disciplinary action against Henry Davis Junior for a controversial Facebook post.

On June 26, the St. Joe County Republicans released a statement calling the tweet "reprehensible".

Just last week, council president Oliver Davis decided not to take disciplinary action against Henry Davis Junior, for posting a vulgar photo on his Facebook page.

On Monday, Rhonda Richards filed a complaint against Davis. According to LinkedIn, she has worked recently as an executive assistant for Citizens Concerned for Community Values of Indiana, but her release suggests that this complaint was filed individually.

Richards sent the following in a media release:

I have filed a complaint against Councilman Henry Davis Jr today and asked for disciplinary action to be taken.

Councilman Henry Davis Jr has again used Social Media to express some very degrading and offensive issues in a public forum to the very community he has sworn to represent.

This is so over the top and offensive it’s hard to know where to begin.

- First – His devaluing of each life that has a different brain development or is mentally handicapped.

- Second – His flippant regard for human life in general, is especially disturbing. I don’t see how the public or council can trust Henry’s judgment on any issue when he doesn’t seem to even value the most basic – Life.

- Third- The idea that he is so afraid of his potential opponents that he wants children killed before they are born is outrageous.

I do not understand why the President and council did not hold him accountable for his Facebook post of 5 months ago, but quoting another Henry Davis Jr Tweet from 6/26/14 “Amen,”@Nickersonvrk: “People don’t change, they just reveal what they really are “ For at least 5 months Henry has been revealing who he is, it’s time to hold him accountable for his actions.
