SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Some local students are making a real-world impact on cancer research at Notre Dame's Harper Institute. On Monday, they had a chance to show how far they have come.
The institute's third annual Research Day brought together cancer researchers from the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University School of Medicine, South Bend.
Undergrads, graduate students, med students and post-doctoral candidates displayed their research in a poster competition.
Three years ago, there were about 20 poster projects. This year, they reached 80 projects with research spilling out into the hallways.
Twenty-eight labs were represented in this year's research poster competition.
