Gunman shoots Elkhart man, escapes from police
Around 10 p.m. Monday, Elkhart police were dispatched to a shooting at the corner of Richmond St. and Congress St., just southeast of downtown.
Responding officers arrived to find Keefer Lee on the ground with an apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported Lee to Elkhart General Hospital. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
Early Tuesday the case was forwarded to the Elkhart Detective Bureau. There are no viable suspects at this time.
