South Bend Police are on the look-out for a teenager who robbed a man at gunpoint and later eluded a swarm of officers.

Around 12:05 a.m. Sunday, patrolmen were dispatched an armed robbery in the 400 block of S. Lake St., near Harrison Primary Center on the city's west side.

Officers arrived to find Orlando Douglas, 21, without his Samsung Galaxy S2 cellular phone, headset, an unspecified amount of cash and moped.

Douglas told police he had arranged a meeting with an unidentified 19-year-old black man outside his home along S. Lake St. However, when that man arrived, he pulled out a blackish-silver handgun and said "come off everything", which investigators says is slang for "give me everything."

A short time later, a South Bend officer spotted the suspect riding on Douglas' stolen moped. Police initiated a traffic stop, but the man sped-off and ultimately evaded apprehension.

The South Bend Detective's Bureau has yet to release the gunman's name, but say he is a 19-year-old black male around 6' 1" and 175 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes and lives in South Bend.
