More than 200 people will be out of a job by the end of this week. According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, Gunite Corporation has announced plans to shut down operations on Friday.
The announcement first came back in July, when the company announced moving local operations to its plant in Rockford, Illinois.
Gunite has already begun shifting their operations to Rockford, and officials say the transition has been smooth. The company has been in Elkhart for 29 years.
Gunite makes wheel-end components for the commercial vehicle industry.
