Elkhart, Ind. A Michiana soldier who was killed in the line of duty won't be forgotten by his military family.

Sgt. Jesse Williams died this past December while serving overseas.

The Elkhart native was one of six soldiers on board a Black Hawk helicopter when it crashed.

Now, the others in his regiment want his legacy set in stone.

According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, the group is raising $15,000 to have his name placed on a war memorial in Germany, near where he was stationed.

If you would like to contribute, donations will be accepted online at www.dragoons.org.
