A local man who was involved in one of the largest child porn websites in the U.S. learned his sentence Thursday.

Granger native Andrew Korpal will spend eight years and one month in an Arkansas prison.

Additionally, the court recommended that he be placed in a mental health treatment program.

Korpal will spend another 12 years on probation. During that time, he will be required to participate in an approved sex offender treatment program.

The U.S. Probation Office will also be allowed to conduct unannounced examinations of his computer equipment and hard drives.

Finally, Korpal will have to comply with all federal, state, and local sex offender laws.

He was one of 14 men charged in connection with a Darknet website, which has since been shut down.

Korpal was also charged back in 2012 with possessing and distributing child porn in Wisconsin.

He is the son of St. Joe County Chief Public Defender Jim Korpal.
