Dozens of parents stopped by to check out a new Autism Learning Center in Granger.
The Sonya Ansari Autism Learning Center opened in July, but held an open house Thursday night for the community.
The center is the only not-for-profit in the area that provides one-on-one applied-behavio- analysis therapy for children with autism.
It is housed in the former Bridges Preschool building on Gumwood Rd. and has several classrooms and activity areas kids use to help develop social skills.
“We really have a nice building that makes it look like a school,” said Clinical Director Nikki DeWitt, . “It makes it look like a typical school that the kids will eventually transition into. So it makes it easier for the kids to transition back to a typical setting “
While the staff is excited about the classroom space, no surprise kids like the large playground most.
