GOSHEN A gas leak that caused two evacuations in four days is now under control.

Construction crews hit a natural gas line last Tuesday. Businesses and residents in the 200 block of W Washington were evacuated for hours while NIPSCO repaired the leak.

Then Friday, gas levels jumped to dangerous levels once again, and The Elkhart Truth reports that the area was evacuated.

NIPSCO says they found a pocket of leftover gas from the Tuesday leak that hadn't been aired out during the initial clean up. They say everything is now clear.
