Chickens could soon be the newest residents of Goshen.
The Goshen city council will discuss an ordinance this week that would allow people living within city limits to keep up to six chickens on a residential property.
Council members Dixie Robinson and Everett Thomas drafted the ordinance after discussing it with residents.
Commercial use of the chickens would be prohibited under the ordinance. The chickens would need to be kept outside the dwelling. Requirements for chicken coops and chicken pens are outlined in the ordinance.
